CapaCITIES project officially launched in Udaipur, with the inauguration of its E-Rickshaws pilot initiative in the city

A multi-year international cooperation project on “Capacity Building for Low Carbon and Climate Resilient City Development (CapaCITIES)” was officially launched in the city of Udaipur (India). The project which is funded by the Swiss Agency of Development and Cooperation (SDC) under their Global Programme on Climate Change (GPCC), provides technical assistance in key areas of city planning and advocacy, solid waste management, energy efficient buildings and retrofits, sewage treatment, and electric transport across four Indian cities of Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Rajkot (Gujarat), Siliguri (West Bengal) and Udaipur (Rajasthan).

Sofies India along with the key implementing partners of the CapaCITIES consortium observed the official launch of the programme, which also inaugurated its first pilot initiative of operating E-rickshaws in the city. Our colleagues at the India office are actively involved in the implementation of the project and is responsible for its core project management, coordination and outreach.
