Exchange of good practices between 75 attendees, among them representatives from 13 rice milling companies belonging to Vinafood2 corporation in South Vietnam. November 12, 2016, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

The Vice and General Director of Vinafood2 insisted on the urgency to apply CP measures, in order to reduce production costs and increase the quality of the products. Five companies that did not yet benefit from RECP audit reported they intention to replicate CP measures.
Attendees learned how to develop a business case for multi-year investments in paddy drying infrastructures. A tool designed by SOFIES and VNCPC aiming at supporting internal management and decision-making processes was presented. During this mission the tool was successfully applied to Long An Food Company and Tien Giang Food Company.
Next step planned: a mainstreaming event in Can Tho, South Vietnam, to disseminate RECP results and advocate a sustainable sector policy and an optimal collaboration between the stakeholders of the rice sector.
