Career

Prior to joining Sofies, Arunita was a Project Officer at the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy, a leading not-for-profit think tank in India. She has experience in working on projects related to sustainable agricultural practices like Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) and GHG emissions in the residential sector. She has also worked in project management and on the preparation of the State Action Plan on Climate Change for Madhya Pradesh and research on the climate change policy scenario in Gujarat.

Arunita was also associated with an environmental legal firm where she worked on various projects related to environmental governance, environmental management practices in the coal mines and thermal power plants sector and policy research. Her main area of focus was research on the implications of new policies on the stakeholders, especially related to coal mines and thermal power plants.


… Outside the office

Being an ambivert, Arunita enjoys socializing and having spirited conversations with people as much as sitting in her room all day reading a book without talking to a soul. She is an avid reader, enjoys cooking and tries to be up-to-date on all the interesting tv series and movies on OTT platforms. Arunita also enjoys outdoor activities like running and badminton, and is looking to learn new games all the time.
